Get certified! The PADI Open Water Diver programme is the world's most popular SCUBA course, this certification is internationally recognised, it's your ticket to a lifetime of underwater adventure, certifying you to dive to 18 m with a buddy. The course runs over four days comprising of theory development, confined water sessions & Open Water diving.
What Will I Do?
Self Learning Upon formally securing your space on the PADI Open Water diver course with In Deep, you will be supplied with your course materials, you work your way through your Open Water diving manual, completing each of the 5 knowledge reviews as you go, alongside watching the PADI Open Water DVD in the comfort of your own home. This allows us to spend less time in the classroom & more time in the water! During the start of your course you will review the key concepts of diver theory & your knowledge reviews with your instructor.
Confined Water Sessions During our confined water sessions you develop basic diving skills in the comfort of a heated swimming pool, ready for the Open Water environment. We start with simple skills like removing & replacing your regulator, building on confidence & competence throughout the sessions, by the end of the confined water dives you will find yourself swimming across the pool without your mask on & hovering completely neutrally buoyant! We will also complete the waterman ship tests during the confined water sessions including a 200 m swim test & a 10 min survival float.
Open Water Diving As part of your course you will complete four Open Water dives, building on your skills & confidence from the confined water sessions. By course completion you will have developed mastery of all skills, peak performance buoyancy & high in-water awareness & will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver! We also have unique access to an in-land fresh water diver training site, so poor weather won't stop us diving, if conditions aren't perfect in Plymouth sound we take our students to explore the attractions of our fresh water site including a sunken helicopter!
