Autumn Blog
Posted by indeep on December 4, 2016
It’s been a busy few months here at In Deep and we have finally got round to writing a long overdue blog post!
From week long trips to weekend charters, club dives, training courses, dive shows and more, it’s safe to say there’s alot to talk about…
Dive trips
Our weekend charters and our ‘Best of the South West’ trips were running right up until the end of November and it’s safe to say we have certainly made the most of the 2016 season.
We’ve had dive clubs from far and wide make the journey to Plymouth, some even travelling through multiple countries to dive with us. (We must be doing something right!!)
Winter Diving
‘Seeker’ has done us proud as always and she can now take her foot off of the gas ever so slightly as the upcoming winter weather will dictate when she will next depart. That said, we will still be planning regular weekend dives during the winter months as they can bring us some of the best diving all year. Get in touch to find out more about booking your place on one of our winter dives.
Training
We have had plenty of training courses running alongside our busy dive schedule, all of which are taught by our very capable and experienced instructors.
Eurotek
This year we teamed up with the Divesoft / CCR Liberty crew on their stand at the biennial ‘Eurotek’ Dive show.
We were there to promote the excellent Divesoft range of products as well as the extremely capable CCR Liberty (rebreather).
As most of you will already know, we are great fans of Divesoft, with all the members of our team currently diving on CCR Liberty units. We also sell Divesoft equipment in our shop as well as service their products. So if you are thinking of buying yourself a Christmas present, I’m sure there will be something in the Divesoft range you need in your life!
All in all, we had a great time at the show, chatted with lots of people about diving and met up with many friends, both old and new. We will definitely be back in 2018.
2017
As the end of the year approaches fast, we have already begun planning for 2017 with our diary rapidly filling.
If you are looking to plan a trip for yourself or your club down to Plymouth next year then make the most of our special ‘Dive easy’ packages or better still, join us for one of our ‘Best of the South West’ holidays!
July Update
Posted by indeep on July 8, 2016
What a busy few months here at In Deep. We have been consistently working on our gas station and retail outfit, spending lots of time on board our Dive boat 'Seeker' and training new students so they can join the ranks in our dive club. The diving has been seriously good over the last few weeks, with visibility of 6-10m on most sites, so as you would imagine, we have been making the most of it! A Diver on Hand Deeps reef with 15m+ visibility.
The In Deep team getting time to dive together is a rarity!
Early this year we decided to join the silent world of closed circuit rebreather diving. The rebreather of choice was a simple decision for us. We wanted something that was simple to build and maintain, well engineered and well thought out. The CCR Liberty was the answer. We are now extremely happy to announce that we are offering our first CCR Liberty MOD1 Course to be run here at In Deep this August. If this is something you would like to get involved with, please contact the dive centre as we have limited spaces available. We will also be attending Tekcamp in a few weeks time as representatives of Divesoft here in the UK, so come and say hi!

The sun is back and the visibility has come with it too!
After an amazing bank holiday weekend full of great diving, with 10 plus meters of visibility, we thought it would be the perfect time to announce our next week-long dive holiday - Best of the South West!!!
With so many dive package holidays on offer these days, we felt the need to create our own earlier this year with the 'Plymouth Best of Wrecks trip'. The trip was a total hit, and within one week of advertising it, we had totally filled up, so we have created another trip with some new dates later on in the year for all of you who missed out on the first one.
‘The Best of the South West’ is aimed at divers that are keen to explore amazing wrecks and reefs in clear, temperate waters around Devon and Cornwall’s stunning coastline.
The end of the summer is notorious for having the warmest water temperatures of the year, fantastic visibility and an abundance of marine life (including sightings of the famous Basking Sharks!)
This all inclusive dive trip will be run from our fully equipped dive centre in Plymouth and will incorporate some of the best wrecks and reefs that Plymouth has to offer.
This amazing trip will have the following itinerary;
Day 1
1. Persier (28m)
2. Mewstone Ledges (10-30m)
Day 2
1. Rosehill (30m)
2. James Egan Layne (24m)
Day 3
1. Eddystone (5-40m)
2. Hand Deeps (5m-45m)
Day 4
1. Hatt Rock (25m-40m)
2. HMS Scylla (25m)
Day 5
1. Maine (35m)
2. Hillsea Point (5-25m)
The proposed dates for this week long dive trip is Monday the 5th of September until Friday the 9th of September (2016). Other dates can also be arranged for group bookings upon request.
Now you’re probably wondering by now how much this 'Best of the South West' week will cost you.
The price is £375 Per Person!

Another Fantastic Weekend at Sea
Posted by indeep on April 18, 2016
This weekend held host to 24 divers from Luton BSAC travelling down to Plymouth for a great weekends diving with us here at In Deep. A fantastic weather forecast, neap tides and a great group of divers meant that the weekend was set out to be a good one from the beginning.
Saturday saw us heading to the Wreck of the James Egan Layne, where unfortunately the visibility wasn't quite as good as expected, but that didn't stop the divers still having a great dive! For the second dive we headed to the reef system of the Mewstone Ledges where there was a vast improvement in visibility and a lot of life to be seen!
When Sunday morning came around the sea state and weather conditions were better than ever imaginable, this only meant one thing... head offshore to Eddystone reef system and see what it had to offer! We set off bright and early to get out to the lighthouse and had excited divers on the back deck all the way out to the dive site! They couldn't wait to get in the water. After an hour long dive on the reef system with visibility reports of more than 10m, free swimming conger eels and schools of bass spotted, everyone came out from the dive with a big grinning smile on their face!
For the final dive of the weekend we headed to dive the Mewstone Ledges again to really make the most of the fantastic dive site! A great weekend was had by all and it was a pleasure to have Luton BSAC diving from the boats! We are looking forward to seeing them all back later in the year for another great trip!
The First Charter of the Season
Posted by indeep on March 20, 2016
This weekend held host to our first dive charter of 2016, and what a weekend it was! We couldn't have asked for a better group of divers to kick start the season off with than the guys from Bolton Area Divers, who made the 6 hour drive down to Plymouth on Friday night ready for a weekend of great diving!
Over the course of the weekend the divers had four great dives from Seeker, exploring some of the great wreck and reef sites that Plymouth has to offer! Alongside the charter we had a few of our club divers come along each day. A big congrats must go out to Jess, who braved the March sea temperatures in her wetsuit to complete her Advanced Open Water Course in excellent style! Also Mark was onboard trying out his new twinset rig with Tecline Regs and DTD wing. We've never seen a diver come out of the water smiling more about their new equipment than he did.
Thank you to all of the guys from Bolton Area Divers and also all of the club divers who joined us, for an excellent weekend. We also can't forget to say thank you for the superb selfies!
